Data Circuits

Our data connectivity options allow for speed, security, location and cost implications, and we’re constantly assessing and improving range and flexibility to ensure the most advanced and secure networks for your business connectivity.

ADSL
High speed internet access is available via Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Lines (ADSL). This service enables you to make use of existing copper telephone lines, for data communication, whilst maintaining accessible and efficient use of voice lines.

LLU
Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) supports analogue voice technology and broadband access. It allows the disconnection of phone lines from existing equipment and the reallocation to an alternative provider. What this ultimately allows for is increasingly competitive pricing and one single rental charge.

EFM
Ethernet First Mile (EFM) technology offers an advanced form of broadband connectivity (up to 10Mbps symmetrical uncontended access) over existing copper circuits. EFM is useful for businesses looking for higher capacity bandwidth access, where fibre connectivity remains cost preventative. EFM overcomes the upstream limitations of ADSL and SDSL.

Leased lines
Leased lines provide dedicated data lines that connect company sites and enable fast speed inter-site communication. The exclusive access of a leased line provides a guaranteed level of quality, speed and data transfer. They are particularly effective for multi-site operations where security and speed between locations is paramount.

ProxiLAN Direct
ProxiLAN Direct services offer point-to-point fixed symmetrical Ethernet bandwidths. Bandwidths available up to 10Gbits, with Network Training Equipment (NTE) placed at each end of the circuit. The standard ProxiLAN Direct products are provided to a maximum radial distance of 25 km and a maximum fibre length of 40km.

Proxinet Virtual Private Circuits
Proxinet Virtual Private Circuits offer transparent symmetrical, un-contended or contended (at 5:1) bandwidth between two Ethernet ports in a point-to-point, point-to-multipoint or meshed configuration. It is a flexible bandwidth, connection oriented Ethernet data service enabling the linking of two or more sites together for data applications at defined bandwidths from 1Mbits to 1Gbits and fibre access speeds of 10,100 or 1000Mbits. There are four resilience and diversity options currently available as part of the Proxinet circuit offering:

Proxiway Standard Resilience – single circuits

Proxiway Protected – single circuit with two diversely routed fibre path

Proxiway Diverse and Proxiway Diverse Plus – two circuits consisting of two diversely routed fibre paths

Dark Fibre
Dark Fibre is a dedicated fibre link that’s not shared with any other customer. It gives complete control of the network to the user. Dark Fibre has an extensive reach with 2500km of network across key UK cities. The network tracks gas pipelines within the M25 boundary and also utilises the sewer network across London. This ensures Dark Fibre is highly reliable and also secure from standard street works. It’s a scalable, low-cost solution for customers with large data network requirements.

Managed Internet Access
This is a single, high capacity, dedicated and unrestricted Internet connection. The circuit is permanently available for the customer’s exclusive use. Generally the circuits are provided on a 100Mb bearer which allows for bandwidth to be upgraded if necessary without having to install new fibre. Routers are supplied, configured and installed at the customer premises.
